Fabulous Furniture is a furniture manufacturer that makes furniture to order, direct to the public. The business has several products that they manufacture: chairs, tables, wardrobes, beds etc. Each product is charged at a particular price. They can also build the various products in a range of different woods (e.g. Vic Ash, Blackwood, Redgum (specialty), Messmate etc.) Customers come into the store and place an order for a set of furniture. One order can consist of several different pieces of furniture to be made. For example, one order may include a dining table, 6 chairs and a wall unit. Also, the customers can choose the type of wood they require. Conveniently, a piece is always the same price, regardless of the wood used. Once orders are placed, the furniture is made and then, eventually, the order is finished, and the customer collects the order, or it is delivered. The business wishes to computerize its order handling operations. The owner would like to be able to record details of the customers and details of the orders placed. They would also like to be able to record when each piece of furniture has been completed, so it can be known which orders are finished or almost finished.
