Farina has been offered a job as a marketing representative for the BC Cattle Association.
She was hired subject to criminal records and social media searches. Her job will be as a sales representative for the company visiting restaurants and grocery stores throughout British Columbia and Alberta to promote the sale of BC beef. However, one week before she is to start her new job (and two weeks after she gave
notice to her current employer) she receives a phone call from the BC Cattle Association stating that it is
withdrawing its job offer. The firm tells Farina that it just found out that she is a prominent member of the
BC Animal Rights party, which is dedicated to eliminating the consumption of all animal products and
banning the sale of meat and leather products. Farina's social media feed shows her leading rallies where
she is holding signs saying "Meat is Murder". The BC Cattle Association is concerned that Farina's public
positions make her unsuitable to market cattle products on behalf of the association. Farina is very upset
and feels she is being discriminated against because of her political affiliation. She wants to know what
her legal rights are in this situation.
Advise her. Explain your answer.
