During the COVID-19 pandemic his employer faced a significant downturn in business, and had to lay off about 1/4 of all of its staff. Unfortunately, Felix was one of these people. Felix believes he is entitled to more money as part of the package his former employer provides him, so he is involved in a lawsuit against them. The lawyer that he has hired has indicated that he is required by law to attempt to minimized the impact of his termination, by looking for a new job. Unfortunately Felix doesn't want to, because he's enjoying his time at home with the family, and is a little concerned about returning to work in the middle of a pandemic.
