For each of the following, using the p-value approach, perform the five steps of hypothesis testing. A forensic scientist is trying to track the origin of some soil samples taken from footprints at a crime scene. She collects 10 samples and analyzes the concentration of pollen from a species of pine tree found in a local forest. The mean pollen concentration of the samples is computed to be 109 grains per gram of soil, with a standard deviation of 16.48. It is known from previous studies that the soil from that local forest has an average pollen concentration of 125 grains per gram of soil and the concentration is normally distributed. If she can prove that the average concentration of pollen in the soil samples (from the footprints) is different than those in previous studies, then it would show that the footprints could not have come from that forest. Use =0.01.
