For Elizabeth project management landscape, the effective utilisation of data analytics plays a pivotal role in enhancing project controls and decision-making at various organisational levels. This assessment aims to provide students with the opportunity to design and critically analyse a project controls dashboard, incorporating data analytics principles, using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau as the design tool. This assessment encompasses the application of Earned Value Management (EVM) as a measurement tool for presentation at operational (project), tactical (programme), and strategic (portfolio) levels. Based on data generated from proposed, ongoing, or completed projects (real or hypothetical), you must design a project control dashboard that utilises Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to integrate and visualise project data, mainly focusing on EVM metrics. The dashboard details should include relevant information based on a project at the operational (project) level, a group of related projects (programme) at the programme level, and a group of programmes at the portfolio level. The dashboard should support decision-making at project, programme, and portfolio levels and show insights from: 1. The work breakdown structure (WBS), cost breakdown structure (CBS), or resource/risk breakdown structure (RBS). 2. The combination of project schedule and cost data using relevant IT tools to deliver relevant project control information (i.e., mainly focusing on EVM metrics). The design of the project control dashboard should cover the following points: Operational Level (Project) (30%): Design an Excel, Power BI, or Tableau dashboard that captures and visualises key performance metrics for a specific project. The dashboard should include key KPIs such as the Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and Variance Analysis. Tactical Level (Programme) (20%): Extend the dashboard to accommodate a program-level view, allowing for aggregating and comparing multiple projects. Include features for identifying trends, common issues, and variations in performance across projects. Strategic Level (Portfolio) (20%): Expand the dashboard to present a high-level portfolio view, consolidating data from multiple programs. Provide executive-level insights and strategic metrics that assist in portfolio-level decision- making.3 Notes: You can source the project data for the assignment or use the project data provided in the Module. This coursework is a group-based assignment to be carried out by groups of 4-5 students. The groups will be formed during the second week of semester 2. Please use PowerPoint Slides (PPT) for the group presentation. The presentation must be delivered in 20 minutes. Anything material beyond this will be ignored in the assessment process. This assessment contributes 30% of the Module's overall Mark/Grade. This assessment is to
