Similarities

All three change models emphasize the importance of structured processes in implementing change effectively. Additionally, each model highlights the significance of involving stakeholders throughout the change process, ensuring that everyone understands the rationale behind the changes and their roles in facilitating them (Safestart, 2020). This engagement helps to reduce resistance and fosters a supportive environment for change.

Differences

Despite their similarities, the models differ in their approaches. Kurt Lewin's Change Model consists of three stages: Unfreeze, Change, and Refreeze. Creating a sense of urgency is critical in healthcare to motivate staff to adopt new practices, andKotter's model emphasizes this in its initial steps (Graves et al., 2023). Additionally, the detailed steps of the Kotter model will guide the project implementation through the various phases, ensuring effective communication of the benefits of CHG bathing compliance while simultaneously reinforcing the new practices among staff.
