For your discussion this week, I would like you to read up on the Lessons from Standing Rock. You do not have to agree with all of the analysis but you should take the challenge seriously of thinking beyond what we think of as $$normal politics$.$ To confront the many problems that you learned about this semester, we need to recognize the connections and then find mutually$-$supportive avenues towards solutions. Normal is what got us here. Now is the time to think about challenging the "normal" narrative.
