Format: One completed "Investment Pitch." of precisely three-four pages, standard formats, font size, and spacing, including at least 1 chart, graph, or table that reinforces the persuasive appeal, uploaded to Blackboard. Charts, graphs, and tables do not count towards length of report. Task: This assignment asks you to create a report, but it really is asking you to make an evidence- driven argument to a specific audience. You should create this report and develop your argument in the following steps Choose a company or product that you would recommend for investment. It could be a new technology, a startup, or a well-established company. Once you have made this choice, perform research to learn more about it. (We will discuss options in class on 5/4.) In the course of your research, you are looking for compelling reasons why someone would invest in this product/company. You do not have to prove it is a "can't miss" opportunity, but you want to build a strong case that this is a good choice. Build on the discussion we will have in class about types of arguments: Do you want to make a comparison to a parallel case? Make a causal argument? Use an example to generalize about future performance? Write out this argument, using the third person, in 3-4 pages of standard prose with 12- point font and 1-inch margins, double-spaced. You should also include at least one chart, graph, or table that you create that helps to support your argument. This will not count towards the page limit. (Think 3 pages of text plus a report.) Revise and re-read your investment pitch, and make sure to include a works cited page for any sources you cite. Submit that final report by uploading it to Blackboard
