full details and answers

(a) Name the underlying mechanisms for each of the following CLO 2 observations, and based on the concept of dislocations briefly explain (12) the reasons for these observations: (i) Magnesium is generally more brittle than Aluminum. (ii) The strength of fine grained mild steel is higher than the coarse grained of the same material. (iii) The strength of pure Copper increases and its ductility decreases as Nickel is added to it. (b) Draw stress-strain curve for a ductile material. Show on the curve how CLO 2 important material properties, such as; elastic modulus, yield strength, (8) ultimate tensile strength, and ductility can be measured from the curve (no explanation required)
