Good Morning! I was given a scenario of whether to take a job paying $69,000 or selling stocks and bonds to raise $100,000 to go to school. In the scenario, I am taking the job. I have to project the value of your holdings for both the stocks and the bonds for the next 5 years based on the growth rate for AAPL and the bond coupons, calculate Fv for each. Then, compare that to a better job with a higher salary. So, you will need to show the next 5 years of salaries (with raises), with and without higher education. Then, to analyze the difference vs. the remaining stocks and bonds. I know this is an opportunity cost analysis but any of the problems we've had we've used a financial calculator so I am not sure how to illustrate.
I have 500 shares of apple stock bought five years ago. I also have 100 apple bonds (each bond bought at par value $1,000 coupon rate 3.25% 5 years in to a 10 year maturity rate. As of date I started this assignment interest rate was .50)
I could really use help on future value of the investments in 5 years time.
