If the flux of the system was determined to be decreasing with cake built-up, what would be the type of the filtration used? When the filtration rate is dropped, cake washing is conducted. Calculate washing time if 1% of solubles is retained in the cake and 1% of the filtrate is retained with washing efficiency of 80 %. (7 Marks)
