Gulliver's Travels Analysis Essay-"a change of perspective" I will be writing 3-4 pages of analyzing

Throughout Gulliver's Travels, there are many moments when the narrator describes a reversal, inversion, or decentering experience. His many voyages provide him with new perspectives, complicating, reversing, or disorienting his sense of self, morality, reason, importance, etc. Pick a passage where you see Swift creating this shift in perspective. Think carefully about this passage. What's going on here? What is the change in perspective taking place, and why might it be important? What assumptions about the world are being challenged or undone? What are the passage's implications for understanding key social concepts and structures?

Looking back through my reading journal as a first place to find a central passage. I suggest picking a relatively short passage (a paragraph at most). Look for a place in the text where Gulliver was surprised, or maybe where you were! Think about passages you found weird or confusing. They can often be good places to start. Finally, just because you are focusing on a single passage does not mean that you cannot quote from the rest of the text for context or to provide a sense of contrast.
