Harris Eye Hospital is a medium sized privately owned hospital located in fifth settlement, Cairo. Harris employs 40 nurses, 20 specialized physicians, ten senior consultant physicians and 30 support staff. Annually, Harris Hospital receives 5,000 patients through its outpatient clinic, perform 1,000 eye surgeries with an average length of stay of less than one day per patient. Established five years ago, the hospital's vision was to be the hospital of choice for patients located in new residential compounds in the same geographical location and for patients from Suez and Ismailia governorates. The Dilemma Amid COVID-19 pandemic the number of people seeking medical advice declined in Harris Eye Hospital. Through 2020, the total number of patients reached only 2,000 and the total number of surgeries conducted was 200. Harris Hospital suffered financially but managed to breakeven in 2020 with several strategies to ensure that doors remain open.
