Hello, could you please help with a response to the below discussion post providing all references?

The decision of Ford not to recall the Pinto is disturbing from a personal perspective. The decision of the organization to rush the production of vehicles that had safety issues for profits is disconcerting and irresponsible. However, according to the video's statistics, Ford operated within federal guidelines once the organization decided to manufacture the car despite the design flaws and safety risks to consumers.

Project quality management is managing an organization's quality standards and policies regarding planning, managing, and controlling project and product quality requirements to meet the stakeholders' objectives in the project management process (PMI 2017). First, plan quality management identifies requirements or standards for the project and its deliverables and documents how the project will comply with quality requirements and standards. Secondly, managing quality reviews by translating the quality management plan into executable quality activities that incorporate the organization's quality policies into the project (PMI, 2017). Thirdly, control quality monitoring and recording the results of the quality activities to assess performance and ensure the project outputs are complete, correct, and meet the customer expectations (PMI 2017). Ford allowed all the requirements outlined in the quality management review process but accepted the risks associated with manufacturing the Pinto. A cost of quality analysis was performed, determining the cost incurred over the product's life by investing in preventing nonconformance requirements versus the cost of meeting conformance requirements (PMI 2017).

No changes will be implemented if the redesign is more expensive than the non-conforming requirements. The cost of quality (COQ) analysis was performed, and it determined it would be more cost-effective to continue manufacturing the Pinto as is (PMI, 2017). Ford Motor Company's decision was based on business ethics. A utilitarian decision that is producing the car was the best decision at the time that would impact fewer people than issuing a manufacturer recall.

Ford was pressured to fast-track production by manufacturing an economical car to compete with Japan. Therefore, no quality management processes would have prevented the organization from manufacturing the Pinto.
