a) Provide the multiple regression equation (6 points)
Interpret the coefficient of the variable Miles (3 points) and the coefficient of the variable age (3
points). For the interpretation, use a sentence such as: if the number of miles increases by one
we expect the yearly maintenance expense to increase by b1(replace the value of the
coefficient) dollars when the age of the truck is held constant.
Explain whether the difference in the magnitudes of the coefficients tell us something about the
relative importance of the variables in predicting the maintenance expense. (2 points).
b) Locate the standard error of the estimate on the regression report and provide an
interpretation. Look at page 439 for examples of how to interpret this estimate. (4 points)
c) Locate the R-square on the regression report and provide an interpretation. Look at page 441 for examples of how to interpret this measure. (4 points)
