If you choose option (1), each group will be proposing an entrepreneurship plan in retailing. Each group will identify potential business needs in retailing and propose a feasible plan to address the need given the current state of the business environment. The presentation includes an analysis of the market for the client's products or services, an implementation timeline & budget. The analytical tools will include, but is not limited to the Porter's five-forces model and competitive advantage. The goal is the group is able to pitch the idea to investors. Ideally, the final presentations should be designed as briefings to venture capitalists. Please avoid choosing business models that already exist. Novelty and feasibility, and relevance to retail analytics topics will be rewarded by grading criteria. Extra points (3%) if the project applies data analytics skills (e.g., linearonlinear regressions, location analysis) to the data that the group identifies and integrates with the business proposal.
