Hello. I'm having a hard time understanding the concept of economics. I need help responding to discussion post and understanding the concept of the topic. Thank you.

For this post, I decided to talk about AFSA (Air Force Sergeant's Association). AFSA is a special interest group that lobbies for military members on many different topics including education, family matters, healthcare, veteran care, and other military benets. AFSA's mission statement is "to advocate improved quality-of-life and economic fairness to support the well-being of our enlisted members and their families" ("We Are AFSA," n.d.). They are a membership-based organization and people wanting tojoin must pay for membership. The more members that the organization gets, the more money and power they have to lobby in congress. This will allow these lobbyists to push these bills through congress and essentially give them a bigger voice. One piece of legislation that is being worked on right now is The Hazard Pay Expansion Act This Act will allow servicemembers to be paid hazardous duty pay during a declared national public health emergency ("AFSA's Legislative Key Issues," 2020).This is especially helpful for people like me who have to respond to emergencies and have an increased risk to hazards during the outbreak of Covid-19. If this bill gets passed, it will be just one of the many great things that AFSA has lobbied for its service members They have also played a very important role in keeping benets as well.
