Hello! This is my homework question: How could you use Descartes' Rule and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra to predict the number of complex roots

Hello! This is my homework question:

  • How could you use Descartes' Rule and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra to predict the number of complex roots to a polynomial, as well as find the number of possible positive and negative real roots to a polynomial?
  • Your response must include:
  • A summary of Descartes' Rule and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra.

I understand how these rules help you find out how many real roots a polynomial will have based on the nth degree and how to look at the sign changes to see how many positive and negative roots there will be but I am not sure how to find the complex roots of a c=polynomial using these rules? Also what is the Rational root test and how would I use it in a situation like this ?
