Now suppose you hold the other end of that string in a fixed position to a force sensor and allow the mass to freely travel in the direction away from the sensor. The string is sufficiently long that it is untaught at the beginning of this scenario. Answer the following: 1.) Sketch (and label) the force acting on the mass as a function of time in this sce- nario. Hint: This implies that the force acting on the mass is not constant throughout the whole scenario. [2 Marks] 2.) Predict and sketch (and label) a velocity versus time graph of the scenario. [2 Marks] 3.) From these sketches, identify where, and how you could prove the impulse-momentum theorem. [1 Mark]
