An index of happiness follows a normal distribution. A sample of 7 individuals (split into two groups) from Spain had reported happiness given in the table below: m- (a) At the 5% significance level test the hypothesis that the average level of happiness in Group 2 is 50, against 1 sided alternative of being greater than 50. (b) At the 5% significance level, test the hypothesis that the variance in the happiness for Group 2 is 100, against a 2-sided alternative. (c) Assuming that the two groups are in fact the same individuals asked about their happiness 1 day before and then 1 day after Spain's world cup victory over Holland in the 2010. Construct a series for the change in happiness and at the 5% significance level test the hypothesis that the population mean change in happiness is zero, against a suitable 1- sided alternative
