This subject touches on many different issues in Business Law. Our privacy protection is important in this Country - especially since it is founded in our Constitution. One of the problems with a data breach is identifying the "damages" involved because of the breach. Certainly, if someone uses your identify and racks up costly bills - it is easy to identify the damages. But, in Target's case - is it easy for someone to prove they were damaged because their identify was simply "out there?" The FTC prescribes legislation that protects our privacy but what should individuals do if they find out their information is compromised?

Think about privacy rights and protections - do we have a "reasonable expectation of privacy" when we work for aprivate employer?"
