Is there REALLY a "War for Talent"?If so,explain. If not, then why are employers talking about it all the time? What does it mean for employers (either way)?

MY answer:There might have been a war for talent in the past but currently, I don't think that is what's happening. Everyone is severely understaffed, almost every business I walk into these days has a helped wanted poster hung up in it. Companies are starting to offer better incentives to work for them and are willing to train new employees. I think a big part of that is due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown. People are also finding their worth as an employee to be more valuable than before and aren't settling for the first job they can get but are actively looking for ones that fit them and their lifestyle better. Before I think people were too worried about not having a job so they didn't actively look for ones with better conditions if they already had one that paid enough but people aren't looking for jobs to just barely make it they are looking at jobs that will allow them not to stress about their future. Just the other day I was watching the news and they were talking about how people are complaining that they aren't getting their mail on time and the reason for that is the US mail system is so understaffed that they can't keep up with everything as quickly as they used to, so with things like this happening I don't think companies or employers are looking for top talent they are simply looking for employees.
