Article 1 ) Reference Bogaers, R., Geuze, E., van Weeghel, J., Leijten, F., van de Mheen, D., Rsch, N., Rozema, A., & Brouwers, E. (2023). Workplace Mental Health Disclosure, Sustainable Employability and Well-Being at Work: A Cross-Sectional Study Among Military Personnel with Mental Illness. Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation, 33(2), 399-413. https://doi.org/10.1007/s10926-022-10083-2

I chose this article about research on the association between disclosure and sustainable employability and well-being at work. In the area where I work with mental health outpatients, this is a very common and constant issue that brings the patients to look for mental health treatments caused by this clinical issue.

This study aimed to investigate the association between the disclosure decision (yes/no), experiences with the decision (positive/negative), and sustainable employment and well-being at work among military personnel with mental illness (page)

The data supporting this model is qualitative, although the research used a cross-sectional questionnaire, including Descriptive and regression (linear and ordinal) analyses. The researchers compared the positive and negative disclosure experiences. Results Disclosure decision (yes/no) was not significantly associated with sustainable employability and well-being measures (page).

However, positive disclosure experiences were significantly associated with higher scores on almost all measures of sustainable employability and well-being at work. Those with negative disclosure experiences reported

The strength of this study was that several measures of sustainable employability and well-being at work were used, combining traditional and novel standards. Additionally, the study included a large sample and participants that had yet to disclose, a group that is usually hard to study. The limitation is that the current study used a cross-sectional design, meaning that no researchers can draw conclusions about causality in the association between disclosure experiences and sustainable employability and well-being at work. Another disadvantage of the cross-sectional design is that the researchers assessed sustainable employability and well-being at work only at one point. At the same time, the researchers should have evaluated throughout a person's working life.

Outcome bias could partially explain that the majority was optimistic about their decision and that positive experiences were associated with higher sustainable employability and well-being at work.

A quantitative assessment of the views of mental health professionals on exercise for people with mental illness: perspectives from a low-resource setting. African health sciences, 19(2), 2172-2182. https://doi.org/10.4314/ahs.v19i2.42

I chose this article because I totally agree and have done research for my own life and exercise is nowadays considered as an evidence-based treatment modality in people with mental illness. This article talks about a low-income country and how Nurses and occupational therapists working in low-resourced mental health settings are well-placed to provide exercise advice for people with mental illness, not only in low-income countries but also for all.

The aims of the present study are twofold. Firstly, to examine the current exercise prescription practices employed by Ugandan health care professionals when working with people with mental illness. Secondly, to identify perceived barriers to exercise prescription and perceived barriers to exercise participation for people with mental illness (page)

The data supporting this model is quantitative, although the research used a cross-sectional questionnaire. In this study, 31 Ugandan healthcare professionals, 20 men; 31.2 7.1 years, completed the Exercise in Mental Illness Questionnaire- Health Professionals Version EMIQ-HP (page).

The barriers is that the researchers were unable to obtain completed surveys from all healthcare professionals working in mental health settings due to the time commitment required, personal concerns regarding the knowledge related to exercise for people with mental illness, and the absence of stimulus for participation. Uganda also has a small mental health industry with around 28 psychiatrists and 230 mental health nurses; competing priorities may have affected the survey response rate, and the survey was limited to only one hospital. Butabika is the only national mental health referral center in Uganda.

Conclusion:A health care reform to enable collaboration with exercise professionals, such as exercise physiologists or physiotherapists, might increase exercise uptake for people with mental illness, thereby improving health outcomes for this vulnerable population.
