How can I respond to this with a scholarly article?

The final discussion for this course was delivered to us. What better way to wrap it off than with this fascinating subject of "Ethics and Legal Issues"? The reality is that this issue is relevant to all professional fields. Though I believe that they are based on extremely light examples and more representative of the world as it is now, when society is constantly putting morals aside, I still feel that there is more ethics in psychology and law. I'd want to begin by providing a brief overview of ethical and legal considerations. When it comes to the counseling profession, discussing ethics may be especially difficult. T It is challenging to define sanctioned professional behavior, much less enforce such professional standards, due to the field's young history, competing theoretical foundation, and emphasis on the ambiguous and abstract substance of the human mind (Kottler & Shepard, 2015, pg.416). This indicates the reason for this, which is that counselors encounter legal concerns, and I discovered this: "Legal issues in the mental health sector relate to matters that should be analyzed through a legal lens or even decided in court. Breaching protected communication, reporting child abuse, and practicing without the necessary qualifications are some of the most frequent legal difficulties (Denise DeCooman , 2022, A). Additionally, in order to succeed in this endeavor, we must be aware of the best ways to control or prevent them. When these problems arise, counseling supervision is beneficial because it allows counselors to receive advice on how to morally and/or legally manage certain problems. The best method for counselors to avert potential ethical and/or legal problems is to take the necessary precautions to do so are

being sufficiently qualified, taking into account the task being done as a counselor.

preserving secrecy, with the exception of those situations where it must be compromised.

respecting the need to warn if a client is thought to be considering hurting another person physically.

Preserving privileged communication, a legal concept that safeguards client data.

when to file a report of child abuse.

preserving and upholding meticulous client records ( Denise DeCooman , 2022, B). I'd want to conclude by pointing out something else that we all need to be aware of: ethics extend beyond only treating clients with respect; they also apply to coworkers, which suggests that their working environment extends to the rest of society.

(A) Social workers should respect their coworkers and honestly and fairly convey their backgrounds, opinions, and duties. Confidentiality

Social workers should respect any private information that their colleagues may disclose in the course of their business dealings. Social Services

Social workers should endeavor to advance the development of people, their communities, and their surroundings as well as the welfare of society as a whole on all scales. Social workers should promote social, economic, political, and cultural ideals and institutions that are consistent with the attainment of social justice and should fight for living situations that support the satisfaction of fundamental human needs (National Association of Social Workers, n.d).
