"In my opinion, I believe that insanity as a defense in the courtroom should be rarely used since there are cases of people faking a mental illness or exaggerating their mental illness just to stay out of prison. I believe this since in most cases it's hard to determine if someone is clinically insane because the person who is standing trial can fake test results or seek sympathy from the Jury and cause Malingering in the trial. It is also hard to learn about a person's mental history since one day someone can be fine and the next they will have killed someone so it is hard to use someone's past as a way to determine whether they are mentally ill or not. Lastly, I believe that someone should be ruled as "Guilty by reason of insanity" only after going through multiple experts and tests and seeing how they act and present themselves in front of others
