The Innocence Project

Click on the link to go to the cases page of The Innocence Project. Pick a case and discuss in detail what evidence was used to exonerate a wrongfully convicted defendant and what evidence was used to wrongfully convict the defendant. You must state the facts first.

Was there a civil case for monetary damages? If so, was the same evidence used or was the evidence different? Make sure to discuss the different burdens of proof and why this matters - civil case - preponderance of the evidence; criminal case - beyond a reasonable doubt.

You will have to do own Internet research on the case you have chosen to obtain information.

This page should be at least two pages x2 spaced. All sources of information must be cited.

Points will be taken off for papers less than two pages and for lack of citation to sources.
