I am conducting an experiment for my biostats class. The prompt is resting heart rates of children vs adults. I am to conduct a stats test to compare the two. My hypothesis is that children have a higher resting heart rate than that of adults. I have a sample size of 100 people, 50 children, and 50 adults. What stats test should I use and what is my null hypothesis as well as my alternative hypothesis for the test? Please also let me know if the test will be one or two sided and why. Also please let me know what calculations will be needed to prove my point/hypothesis. Thank you in advance
