I am doing a quantitative research proposal on the association between authoritarian parenting practices and maladaptive behaviors in children and adolescents. How can I make sure that I have a diverse sample that accurately represents all of the demographics of my population? I considered using census data but I am not sure how I can word it for the proposal. The data will be collected through survey at one point in time. I also must respect diversity including gender, race, ethnicity etc.
