I do not agree that it is the innate differences that we are born with that create "perceived differences" in leadership styles between women and men, but rather how a person is raised. The morals that are instilled in us from our parents as we grow up will shape how a person is as a leader while how their outlook on gender is based. Women are just as capable as men in doing or achieving anything including leadership. Any perceived differences are from people who just do not have respect for gender equality. Years ago there was a huge perception that women are not capable of being a leader, or able to do many things that men would do. The times have finally changed, and women are given more chances to do things that were only done by men in years past. This is mainly why women have to overcome obstacles in the leadership labyrinth while trying to become a leader in the workplace. An article that I found also stated, "research points to positive leadership effectiveness among women when faced with difficult challenges and achieving desired results in over a dozen competencies" (Capshaw 2019). I have worked for many women that were leaders, including my current manager. She is the best leader that I have had in my twenty some odd years of being in the workforce.
