Your journal will help you manage the feedback that you receive from your classmates and stakeholders.
Log all of the feedback you have received since your last journal assignment, regardless of whether you intend to (or already did) incorporate it or not. For the feedback you choose to incorporate, briefly describe how you will go about incorporating it and how the feedback improves your design or documentation. If you reject any feedback, discuss why.
For additional details, please refer to the Journal Assignment Guidelines and Rubric document in the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics section of the course.
Your participation in the feedback journal assignment is essential to your overall success in this course. The journal offers you the opportunity to organize all feedback in one location, reflect on the choices you have made in the past, and discuss what will be best for your project moving forward. With this journal, you can get the most from your classmates responses and instructors guidance. You are required to post four journal Assignments. Guidelines for Submission:
This was my original feedback journal entry
Ive always asked for blunt feedback ever since I was in high school. On a personal level it was the only way to know the truth regarding the subject. With blatant truth I dont have to attempt to analyze the feedback I receive.
Ive learned as a Coach and from getting into management it is imperative to give feedback as soon as possible. If an IT staff member was giving a client false information - Id pull that person aside and let them know I overheard the conversation. Id then ask where they found that information out. If it were incorrect, Id let them know that I know you had good intentions but that information was incorrect. You can find the right information by .. and continue to inform them where they can get the right info, and follow up with continued support indicating they had the right intentions (assume positive intent). Feedback while managing a project can come from the client, a team member or even a superior.
Client: It is imperative to keep the client up-to-date and ask for feedback before you receive negative feedback. That way - you can stay in front - to catch problems before they may occur.
Team member: Id use the same approach I listed above. Approach the person with positive intent and ask why they did what they did to understand their side of the situation. If it required redirection/correction I would be sure to offer the feedback to them promptly.
I would also inform the team that Id like to know if there is an issue with myself or the way something is going - and Id like them to be direct so I dont have to attempt to analyze their feedback. I would request the same from a supervisor. Assuming the feedback isnt offensive - but direct and factual I can use it to change my approach. Ive learned to combine feedback from multiple people to form my own approach
Current Feedback:
From my original week one post my project choice has change. This website proposal is My team indicated my timeline was too tight because of the day-to-day incidents that have been happening. I took the time to review the daily cases over the past week and found that it takes an average of an hour to resolve a typical case with there being 30 cases or more a day. Based on that - I have to either add an additional 30 days or hire more temp people to work in the project. The latter increases the cost of the project - Ill need to inform all of the stakeholders and provide as much information as possible for the stakeholders [project team] to make the best decision on how to proceed. Right now, the project has been paused for 5 business days until our CTO returns from his vacation. He made the call to wait prior to leaving for his time off.
