I. GOTCHA CO. Weighted Average Cost Method.

The manufacture of product XT-123 is begun in Dept. No. 1. From there it goes to Dept. No. 2, where the product is completed. Upon completion, it is sent to Finished-Goods Storage in the warehouse.

At the END of processing in each department, the units of products are inspected; only those that pass inspection are sent to Dept. No. 2 and to Finished-Goods Storage, respectively.

The spoiled units (both normal and abnormal spoilage) cannot be salvaged, have no scrap value, and are thrown away.

Prepare a calculation of equivalent units, for Dept. No. 1, using weighted average costing method. Include physical units. Also calculate equivalent unit costs (round to 2 decimal points).

You do NOT need to make a statement to assign costs.

You will need to calculate the amount going (transferred) from Dept.1 to Dept.2.
