Using secondary sources for data collection: meaning, I can't control the design, sample size, or bias. There is also no deciding what kind of data collection data methods will be used.
INITIAL METHODS: Why Employers Find It Difficult to Employ Formerly Incarcerated Individuals
Include a detailed description of the theory you are using within your methods, your collection methods, and how this will fill a gap within the current literature.
You need at least three pages here. You should include your tools (such as survey, interview questions, source of data, etc., which do NOT count towards your three pages.
Title (Self-explanatory) Abstract (not necessary for this course but would typically be 150 words or less) Introduction: Introduce your topic. Why is this topic important, how does it serve the field and society? Summarize existing research (briefly). What is the central problem and what methods are typically used for research it? Provide your framework-what questions are you addressing? How does it build upon or into existing knowledge? Literature Review: REMEMBER to cite, compre methods/outcomes/arguments, contrast themes, and offer critique (gaps), and ultimately to connect the literature to your particular study and topic. Structure it in this format: Background Information section (This is the introduction of historically relevant information or information necessary to define out the variables being covered. Historical research would be summarized here. Discussion of sources (This is where you introduce the main parts of literature that exist. Use subheadings to separate out key themes within the literature. Within a paper of this size, you could have 2-3 subheadings. Remember, each piece of research is designed to flow together, explain the phenomenon you are studying, and build support for addressing the gaps through your research. You are summarizing research but it should still be clear that the 6 questions are answered from your Reading Research handout.) Recommendations (This is where you lay out gaps and recommendations for future research. Methods Section: Introduce your research question, variables, and purpose of study. Define out your sample and how you will obtain it. (Could use subheading for sample section.)Define out your research tools (secondary source, interviews, focus groups, etc. What method will you use?) Describe how you will use your tools/how you will engage with the data. (Could use subheading here.) Why are you using this tool/process? Describe the process you'll use for analysis. (Could use subheading here.) Acknowledge time commitments, budgets, and any anticipated challenges and your response to them. (Could use subheading here.) Discussion: Identify how your research will build upon contemporary knowledge, serve the field, and serve the broader community. How might the outcome impact policy, social change, or enhance services? . What are potential outcomes (both in line with your hypothesis and the null)? . What gaps will exist in your research and what additional studies will need to be completedStep by Step Solution
