  1. a) Show how each of the inputs and outputs are coded (in terms of binary values).

  2. b) Complete the truth table for this system.

  3. c) Find the minimum sum of products expression for each output.

  4. d) Draw the minimum SOP circuit for each output using only NAND gates (shortcut method

    is ok)

Problem 6: (8 pts) Design a speed warning device with 4 inputs (a, b, c, d). It receives, on two lines (a, b), an indication of the speed limit on the highway. There are three possible values: 55, 65 or 75 MPH. From the automobile it receives, on two other lines (c, d), an indication of the speed of the vehicle. There are four possible values: =55 and =65, >65 and =75, and >75 MPH. It produces two outputs (f, g). The first, f, indicates whether the automobile is going above the speed limit. The second, g, indicates that the automobile is driving at a "dangerous speed" - defined as either >75 MPH or 10 MPH above the speed limit. a) Show how each of the inputs and outputs are coded (in terms of binary values). b) Complete the truth table for this system. c) Find the minimum sum of products expression for each output. d) Draw the minimum SOP circuit for each output using only NAND gates (shortcut method is ok)
