There is a more complex version of regression call binary logistic regression that I was able to use to predict (infer) the price to sail on a cruise ship (per person per day) based on the age of the ship (while controlling for other price factors that included day of departure, continent of departure, number of sailing days and seasonality of the cruise. The question was what premium is paid by consumers for new ships - that data could be used to determine value of building a new cruise ship or how many years a ship could be viable. The answer was the ticket price goes down $2.33 per person per day for each year of age of the ship. Does not sound like a lot, but it equates to premium of about $650,000 per sailing, or about $32 million in "extra" revenue for the first year of sailing on a brand-new ship based on ticket pricing alone. After 10 years of age the cruise ship reaches no premium
