I need help answering this reflection. You are in the position of the union and need to address the issue which is classroom sizes.

You're on the faculty union team at Trent University (please note that you are now on the other side)

Issue: Classroom Sizes(same issue)

Union Position:

Keep status quo. Right now the lowest number in the class can't go below 10. If less than 10 students are signed up for a class then the class does not proceed - it is cancelled. Our target point is 10 students, we do not want to change what's already in the collective agreement, it's been this way for years.

Explore the following questions to build your case:

Why would we want to insist on 10 students? How will it benefit the employees/students/other stakeholders?

What might mgmt. want and why? What arguments would they have? Do you have a counter argument for it?

What would help our argument to keep status quo?

What is our resistance point? Initial position?
