I need help with the following question in my bio statistics class. I have a mac with 2011 excel. At the end of the question, you will see my calculations on means and a TTest score. However, I'm not sure if I used the correct grouping for my TTEST score (I used the Overall Sample of those w/o health insurance and the South Atlantic Region of those w/o health insurance.) I don't know what to do from here to properly answer this question noted below:
Question 6) Please review the table on the next page. Calculate the mean state proportion of those without health insurance. The population mean for those without health insurance is 14.1. First, calculate the overall sample mean of those without health insurance. Second, pick a region of your choice and calculate the sample mean for those without health insurance in that region. Are the sample means the same as the overall U.S. percentage, or in other words, though it may not be an exactly similar number are you able to confidently say that the sample means truly reflect the population mean? Why or why not?
Step 1:Overall sample mean of those w/o health insurance = 13.40784314
Step 2:South Atlantic Region Mean of those w/o health insurance = 16.0888889
Population Mean = 4.87764706
Overall U.S. Population mean = 14.1
TTEST Score = 0.084791984
