Learning Objectives Configure and verify basic device configurations Configure VLANS Assign VLANs to ports Configure Inter-VLAN routing Verify end-to-end connectivity Introduction In this activity, you will demonstrate and reinforce your ability to configure switches and routers for inter-VLAN communication. Among the skills you will demonstrate are configuring IP addresses, SSH, VLANs, trunking, and subinterfaces.. Addressing Table Default Device Interface IP Address Subnet Mask Gateway L00 207.12.13.179 255.255.255.0 N/A fa0/1.10 172.16.10.22 255.255.255.128 NA Router fa0/1.20 172.16.20.11 255.255.255.192 N/A (HQrouter) fa0/1.30 172.16.30.13 255.255.255.224 N/A fa0/1.40 172.16.40.7 255.255.255.240 N/A fa0/1.50 172.16.50.9 255.255.255.224 N/A Switchl (SlLevel-I) VLAN 50172.16.50.22 255.255.255.224 172.16.50.9 Switch2 (S2-Level2) VLAN 50 172.16.50.15 255.255.255.224 172.16.50.9 S3 (S3- VLAN 50 | 172.16.50.29 255.255.255.224 172.16.50.9 Level3) PCO NIC 172.16.10.114 255.255.255.128 172.16.10.22 PC1 NIC 172.16.20.58 255.255.255.192 172.16.20.11 PC2 NIC 172.16.30.26 255.255.255.224 172.16.30.13 PC3 NIC 172.16.40.13 255.255.255.240 172.16.40.7 VLAN and Port Assignments Table VLAN 10 20 30 40 50 Name Intern Finance HR Learner Management Interface Fa0/3-5 Fa0/10-12 Fa0/6-8 Fa0/15-17 VLAN 50 (Native VLAN) Important Note: Passwords, VLAN names and device names are case sensitive. Instruction Steps 1. Configure the router and each switch with the following basic commands. Hostnames: o RouterO: HQrouter o Switchl: SlLevel-I o Switch2: S2-Level2 o Switch3: S3-Level3 Telnet, Enable and console passwords: ADMIN (do not use "secret"). line con 0 - logging sync Encrypt all clear text passwords Configure a banner MOTD: Unauthorized access is prohibited! 2. Configure SSH on router and each switch Domain name: netacad.com Username: admin Password: CLASS Modulus bits: 1024 Configure the VTY lines to check the local username database for login credentials and to only allow SSH for remote access. 3. Assign IP addresses to all the devices based on the adddressing table including subnet mask and default gateway where required. 4. Create, name, and assign VLANs on the required Switches based on the VLAN and Port Assignments Table. Ports should be in access mode. Your VLAN names should match the names in the table exactly 5. Configure appropriate ports on Switches as a static trunk with Native VLAN 50. 6. Disable all the unused ports on all the switches. 7. Configure inter-VLAN routing on Router based on the Addressing Table. 8. Configure a default static route on the Router pointing to the loopback interface. 9. Check the network: Submit the video demonstration of the following using IOS show commands and command prompt utilities such as ping, ipconfig etc
