Online Management Training, LLC sells online management training books and streaming online videos to customers who want to improve their management skills. The company promotes its two products via email and through web-based banner ads. The data file includes transactions for a single day and your manager has asked for an analysis of the data and recommendations based on the results. The fields in the transaction list include Customer ID, Region of Purchase, Payment Method, Source of Contact (either email or web-based banner ad), Amount of Purchase, Product Purchased (either online book or video) and the Time of Day (24-hr format). Download the data file OMTTransactions.xlxs and follow the instructions below to complete the analysis and prepare a recommendation for the company.

Instructions:

Part 1: Data Analysis Create PivotTables and Charts to answer the following questions: 1. What region do most of OMTs customers come from? 2. Are there regional differences in the source of customers (e.g., do customers in one region respond to web-based banner ads or email ads?) 3. What type of payment method is used most frequently and does it differ by the source of contact? 4. What times of day have the highest product sales and does this differ by source of contact? Use a line chart to illustrate sales by hour based on source of contact. 5. What percent of total sales does each product (online book or video) represent and are there regional differences in the type of product customers purchase? Part 2: Summary and Recommendation On a separate worksheet (named Recommendation), insert a textbox and summarize your results in a brief statement for the owner of the company followed by your recommendation on the 1) type of advertising (web-based banner ads or email) you believe will be most effective and 2) which region(s) the company should focus its marketing efforts on to increase product sales. Include relevant PivotCharts to support your recommendation. File Submission: Upload a single Excel 2016 data file. Multiple PivotTables and Charts can be included on a single worksheet (clearly label each PivotTable by the question). Prior to submission, verify that all functions, formulas, and numbers are correctly formatted (accounting format, 0 decimals) and all columns, rows, and PivotTables and Charts have appropriate labels or titles.
