Unit 01 - Strategic Management

Introduction

Strategic Management develop learners' understanding of strategic and change management models, as well as the ability to review strategic plans, to propose strategic options, to create implementation plans and to lead organisational changes.

Scenario

Learners may use their own employment context, or that of another organisation with which they are very familiar, to base their assignment. However, in the case that they are not able to do so, please use the below scenario:-

You are working as a senior manager in a small or medium sized health or social care or any organisation of your choice, with roles and responsibilities to develop, manage and manage effective and efficient business and organisational strategy with your team members and senior officers/directors to comply with performance to applicable standards, legal requirements, the organisational objectives to gain competitive advantages. You are given a task to write a piece of paper to develop a business strategy and a plan of your company's product and services to offer customers at the global level to compete competitors. Your reflective paper/assignment should contain minimum 2500 words in length for topics that you have covered in this unit to meet learning outcomes of the unit.

Analyse key external influences on an organisation's strategy
