Plugflow reactor always require a smaller time than for backmix reactor to achieve maximum concentration of R. In exothermic reversible reactions: The rate always increases with temperature at any composition. A rise in temperature increases both the equilibrium conversion and reaction rate. The rate of forward reaction speeds up but the maximum attainable conversion decreases. The temperature of reacting fluid will rise as conversion rises. In irreversible reaction, the best path for minimum reactor size is: increasing reaction temperature isothermal at the maximum allowable temperature decreasing reaction temperature the locus of maximum rates
