In our course materials, we examined when an injury occurs that can't be resolved simply with a monetary award, and a court needs to order the defendant to refrain from further actions or awards punitive damages to punish the defendant. • Reflect on a time when you or someone you know was affected by a person or company who would not change their behavior to an extent that legal action may have been required.
  • Describe the legal wrong that took place, and how that affected the injured party.
  • Think about what type of tort may have occurred, and what remedy a court could have crafted to protect the injured party, and whether you think the injured party should have taken legal action, and why or why not.
