.Mercedes-AMG can be described as a very formal and mature organization. Much effort is put into developing and improving project management, which results in projects being able to use tools, methods, and templates tested, improved, and provided by the organization. The efficiency of projects is thereby increased (Pinto, 2019). The organization tries not to implement excessive management or bureaucratic overhead and enables project managers to be still creative with their job (Mercedes-AMG GmbH, 2022).

Generally, AMG has a relatively flat hierarchy. Most teams deploy a matrix structure of some sort, which allows the individual groups to react quickly to changes as they have more authority (Nieto-Rodriguez, 2021). However, this increases organizational complexity, among other things, as workers have to meet the goals of project managers and line managers, thereby slowing down the organization. The project organization, that is used for special and important projects, avoids or improves the matrix organization's drawbacks. This approach reduces complexity as it is more effective and gives the project manager more authority (Pinto, 2019).

Project management offices (PMO) enable managing the complex and interrelated tasks within a project (Pinto, 2019). The organization assigns a PMO to every vehicle project.
