In this assignment, students will take part in planning, providing, analyzing, and documenting children's art based on the 5 elements of art as discussed in class (line, color, shape, space, and design).
Students will create open-ended Art experiences (5 total) for the children in their care, based on each element of Art: line, color, shape, space and design. Students will research, plan and implement the art activities. Any references for the activities must be handed in. Each experience must be child-centered, open-ended, and follow the philosophies of the course. While the five activities take place, Students will collect examples of the product from at least three different children.- This will be used for your documentation presentation and can be used as a part of assignment 2.
Students will then develop an Art portfolio presentation in PowerPoint using collected picture samples of the children's work. An explanation of the activity and an analysis of the stage of Art development will be included for each sample. Students may use any of the developmental stages discussed in class and the resources provided. (10-15 slides total not including coversheet, grade sheet and references).
