In this part of your assessment, you will examine two main areas: leaders who may have influenced
you and how you have led/influenced others.
First, look back on your life and examine those who have had an effect on your life. What
characteristics did they exhibit that influenced you? What was their effect like? Were they very
directive or participative? Did they support you or leave you on your own? What was it about them
that you most remember? (5 marks)
Second, look at your own life and examine how you have influenced and led others. You might be
thinking, I have never led anyone or anything in my life. If you look carefully you will see that you
have indeed influenced others over the course of your life. It could be a family member (child or
sibling), friend, classmate, co-worker, community group, volunteer group, or larger organization. (5
marks)
