The topic below which relating to online freedom and responsibility to research in more detail. You will be required to include evidence from your sources that you consulted:
Topic is Fake News: This would include tactics such as "click bait." Following the 2016 American election, some sites like Facebook started blocking "fake news." Should social media sites block "Fake News"? How can you tell the difference between fake news and real news?
Your tasks for Steps 1:
1.Can you describe everything you already know about "Fake News" under the heading "what I know";
a)Know: what do you already know about this topic? List it out everything you can think of - no matter how insignificant it may seem. It's okey if it ends up being wrong.
b)Want to Know: List it out all questions you would like to research. You may add to this as your research sparks new questions.
c)How: How will you keep track of potential sources and actual sources you use for your research under HOW? What are some good resources you can use? Include links to specific websites.
d)Learned: Can you take notes about what you have learned under the "learned" heading. Ensure that you cite your source.
e)Action: what can you do with the information you have learned to help other? This is where you consider the best format/medium for sharing what you have learned under ther "Action" heading?
f)Question: Can you identify any questions you still have in the "Question" section?
Your tasks for Step 2:
After you finished step 1, consider how you will present your research findings.
What is the best format/medium for sharing what you have learned with other (consider the commercial implications of the technique, who benefit from the topic you are researching and what do you gain?)
What the best way to inform your peers about what you learned?
A Facebook posts?
A Blog posts?
A Google doc that others can add to?
A podcast?
The medium you choose is up to you, but you need to be prepared to justify why your choice is the most effective one for communicating to an audience of your peers. Consider what one the medium can do that others can't. Use a Pro Vs. Con chart to help you choose the best medium.
