Instructions
Background
In a firm with employees, the CEO is interested in knowing what level of commitment the companys employees have to the firm. The CEO suspects approximately fulltime employees are more committed eg emotional attachment to the firm than the nearly contracted personnel. The CEO has a hypothesis that company employees are more committed and, therefore, would like to propose hiring employees versus contractors or converting the contractors to fulltime employees. Alternatively, if you fail to reject the null hypothesis, then the use of contractors can be expanded. Either way, the CEOs company will get better commitment from employees or cost savings and workforce flexibility from contractors. The CEO asked the human resources director to survey all employees using an established measurement scale that taps into organizational commitment. The dataset represents the average scores of each worker on this scale. Test the null hypothesis that there is not a statistically significant difference between the two groups of workers using the independent samples ttest in both Excel and SPSS
Instructions
In your writeup of this study, please briefly describe the purpose of the study, describe the use of the ttest to explore this hypothesis, and report the findings in detail. Last, please explain the results in narrative form. In other words, tell the story of the study beyond simply calculating the tvalue.
