Interest groups have demonstrated their significant impact in our democracy today. But, I argue that our state is worse off with interest groups.

1. Corruption is one of the biggest reasons that our state is worse off with interest groups. More times than not, there are too many gifts and perks that come alone with interest groups making their support of a campaign less in the interest of the people they are actually serving and more in the interest of themselves.
2. Another reason our state is worse off with interest groups is the fact that it increases the influence of the wealthy. This being said, the top percentage of people with the most money would be in control of everything including politics. Meaning they would essential only do what's needed to maintain their wealth instead of looking out for the common good of the people.
3. This being said, it leads into the next problem of interest groups which is them putting their own interest before the needs of the Nation. Making it nearly impossible for them to impact that community in a positive way.
4. Another reason our state is worse off with interest groups is because most Americans do not belong to an interest group. This being said, many Americans are not being accounted for in regards to their needs and their voices being heard.
5. Lastly, one of the greatest problems with interest groups is that most of the information that is being pushed out by interest groups is one sided. Making it extremely difficult for the people within the interest groups to see the negative aspects of whatever agenda is being pushed out by the interest group.
