Introduction: Give a clear description of the design problem, the application environment, a clear statement of the technical problem to be solved, and any assumptions and delimitations. Also clearly state the goals of the design project as given by the customer$/$client$/$supervisor$/$manager etc. Review all the current designs and methods used in industry to resolve the design problem that you are attempting to solve.

Customers' Requirements: Discuss the customers' requirements as given by the initiator of the project. This may come from consultations with your supervisor and$/$or research into the need for the design project.

Design Specifications: From the above customers' requirements extract and give concise statements of the design specifications.

Design Criteria: Outline all the important design criteria.

Project Budget: Give a project budget estimate. Try to justify your cost estimates.

Project Workplan: Give a clear project workplan. Use the Gantt Chart in doing this. Ensure that the activity assignment to each project partner is according to the 'Project partners' agreement'.

Contracts: Attach copies of your signed supervisor and project partners' agreements.

Meeting Agenda & Minutes: Attach copies of your meeting minutes and agenda.

References: Acknowledge sources of your information by $($i$)$ citing the main text where you have used other people's ideas and $($ii$)$ listing down all the sources that you have used and cited in the main text of your report. At this stage, you may use the Harvard style of referencing. This referencing style may change according to your supervisor's taste. You are allowed to use Mendeley in compiling the citations and references list. Please remember to cite figures and tables that you have copied from other literary sources. If you use anyone ideas without appropriately acknowledging them, it is a crime in academia and punishable by dismissal from your studies.
