Introduction:

Inbound transportation is also a key responsibility of the retail management team to maintain an effective and efficient supply chain. This aspect of supply chain is critical in meeting a customer's requirements for the required product quantity and quality. Given the annual volume indicated in the "Capstone Import Register" as the optimal order quantity for a year based upon the retailer's experience of their consumer's buying behavior, the management team must decide whether the product will be imported all at one time or in several shipments over the course of a year. It should be noted that by the end of 'year1' all the annual volume must have been imported.

The supply chain decision making process is presumed to commence in September 2020. Shipments of product are to start no later than January 2, 2021 and be completed by December 15, 2021.

The management team should draw on the knowledge and skills that they have learned and practiced in their previous Supply Chain Management courses. Students are therefore responsible for reviewing the previously studied course work, text books, and material as required to address all Capstone assignment specifications.
