iPhone App Design Project $-$ Proposal & Presentation

In this assignment you will be working individually on a proposal of a new mobile app concept.

You will briefly present to the class your proposed design using PowerPoint. Make sure that your

proposal is clear, concise, and fully describes the aspects of your proposed mobile app. As soon

as your proposal is approved and selected, you will be potentially following this app design

proposal as a basis to the implementation of your final mobile app toward the end of the course.

Please keep in mind that you will be using Xcode as the main development tool for creating your

mobile app and should be able to be demonstrated in$-$class using emulator. Your concept must be

able to be achieved before the end of the course.

Only one written proposal is required to be submitted by each student along with a rough sketch

of sample screens of your design using a storyboard method. Each written proposal should be at

least a single page and must consist of the following sections:

App Title: Provide a unique name for your mobile app.

Target Demographics or Industry: Briefly describe the target audience or industry for this app.

Is this app targeted for the industry of aviation, automotive, education, healthcare, etc.? What is

the age range of users? What type of personality? How will your app attract new users?

App Description: As the main part of the proposal, provide a high level description of the

mobile app. What is the purpose of your app? What benefit does this app provide to target

audience or industry?

Key Features Summary: Briefly description the unique features of your mobile app. What

makes your app unique and different? What are some unique characteristics? Genre: Describe

how the mobile app fits into a particular genre or category. Does it fall into categories such as

productivity, education, medical, finance, etc.?

User Interface: Briefly describe the screens and layout of your mobile app. Functionality: What

is the business logic of your app? What governs how the mobile app is used? How is it

controlled? What are objectives?

Concept Sketch: Draw a quick sketch of your app screens and mobile app icon. Include user

interface elements on each screen such as buttons, labels, textviews, etc.

Personal Statement: Each student must write a quick personal statement about what the mobile

and this app design proposal means to you.
